A scary incident happened on Monday morning when a fire broke out under a New York City-area train. It caused panic among passengers, and thick smoke filled the train.
The fire started around 6:15 AM on a PATH train (Port Authority Trans-Hudson) heading east at Newport Station in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Videos shared online showed passengers coughing and yelling for the doors to open as they tried to get out. People can be heard shouting “open the door” and “easy, easy.” Once off the train, the video shows bright orange flames rising from the tracks, almost touching the top of the train car.
