Sterlite Technologies just split into two—what does this mean for the future of digital connectivity?

Sterlite Technologies (STL) has officially completed the demerger of its Global Services Business, marking a major shift in its corporate structure. The services division will now operate under STL Networks, which is branded as Invenia.

This move is set to create two focused, agile organizations—each specializing in its domain for faster growth.

Why the Demerger?

The split aligns with STL’s long-term vision to sharpen its focus. Now, STL will concentrate on optical networking, while STL Networks (Invenia) will drive digital infrastructure services.

This separation allows both companies to innovate faster, serve customers better, and attract specialized investors.

STL Networks: Powering India’s Digital Revolution

Over the past decade, STL Networks has been a key player in India’s digital growth, deploying over 1.35 lakh km of optical fibre across 23 states.

From rural connectivity to smart city projects, it has been a backbone of India’s internet expansion. The company has also made strides in the UK, proving its global capabilities.

Leadership for a Smooth Transition

To ensure seamless operations, Rahul Puri will lead STL’s Optical Networking Business, while Pankaj Malik takes charge as CEO of STL Networks. Both leaders bring deep expertise, ensuring both companies thrive independently.

What’s Next?

With this demerger, STL and STL Networks are now two strong, distinct entities—ready to innovate, expand, and deliver even greater value to customers and investors. The future looks bright for both!
