A deadly gas cylinder explosion occurred on Monday evening in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal, killing at least seven people. The victims included four children and two women.
The explosion took place at a house in Dholaghat village, located in the Pathar Pratima block, around 9 pm. A woman was also injured in the blast and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police believe the explosion happened when firecrackers, which were stored inside the house, caught fire and caused the two gas cylinders to explode. All the bodies have been recovered from the site of the explosion.
Sunderban Police District SP Koteswara Rao confirmed that the injured woman was rescued and is receiving medical care.
