Trump Signs Orders Targeting Krebs and Taylor for Criticism

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has signed two new presidential orders targeting former officials Christopher Krebs and Miles Taylor. These individuals had previously criticized Trump during his first term in office. The new directives strip both men of their security clearances and call for federal investigations into their actions.

This move comes as Trump gears up for the 2025 election, reigniting old political battles and seeking to silence those who once opposed him. Critics are calling it a troubling sign for democracy, while Trump insists it’s about accountability.

Trump’s Accusation of Treason

In a dramatic statement, Trump labeled Miles Taylor a traitor. Taylor, once a top Department of Homeland Security official, was the anonymous author behind a 2019 book exposing chaos inside the Trump administration. He later revealed his identity in 2020.

While signing the order, Trump said, “I think he’s guilty of treason, if you want to know the truth.” The memorandum demands the Justice Department launch a full investigation into Taylor.

Taylor responded in a text message, saying, “Dissent isn’t unlawful. It certainly isn’t treasonous. America is headed down a dark path.”

Krebs Under Fire for Defending 2020 Election

Trump also signed a separate order targeting Christopher Krebs, his former cybersecurity chief. Krebs led the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) during the 2020 election.

After Trump lost to Joe Biden, Krebs publicly rejected claims of election fraud. CISA even released a statement calling the 2020 vote “the most secure in American history.” Five days later, Trump fired Krebs via Twitter.

Now, Trump’s new order revokes any security clearances Krebs may hold and initiates a review of his work at CISA. Trump referred to Krebs as “a disgrace” and “a wise guy” during the announcement.

SentinelOne Also Dragged In

Krebs now works at SentinelOne, a cybersecurity firm that acquired his consultancy, the Krebs Stamos Group, in 2023. Trump’s directive goes a step further by revoking the security clearances of SentinelOne personnel, pending a government review.

SentinelOne issued a calm response, stating the company would “cooperate in any review required by government processes.” The firm added it doesn’t expect the action to impact its business and remains committed to public good and strong government partnerships.

Political Fallout and Public Reaction

These actions have sparked intense debate. Critics say Trump is misusing presidential power to target former aides who disagreed with him. Supporters claim it’s part of his effort to “drain the swamp” and expose disloyalty.

Either way, these new moves put Trump back in the headlines, once again mixing politics with personal vendettas as he prepares for another presidential run.

Final Thoughts

By revoking security clearances and demanding investigations, Trump is setting a bold—and controversial—tone. Whether these actions hold legal ground or not, they certainly send a clear message to those who oppose him: criticize at your own risk.
