Billionaire investor Vinod Khosla has shared a strong warning about the future of jobs. He believes artificial intelligence (AI) will take over most of the jobs we see today—possibly within just five years.

Khosla made this prediction while speaking on Nikhil Kamath’s WTF podcast. He called the rise of AI “one of the biggest changes in human history.”

AI Could Replace Most Jobs

According to Khosla, AI will soon be able to handle work across almost every field—from law, finance, and medicine to customer service. He even said that AI might do complex tasks like surgery better than humans, but legal rules and approvals are slowing down that shift.

What Should Students and Young Professionals Do?

Khosla shared important advice for the younger generation:

“Don’t become a specialist. Be a generalist.”

He explained that AI will be so advanced that it could outperform people in specific, focused roles. So, instead of sticking to one skill or profession, it’s better to learn a variety of skills.

He added that in the AI-driven world, success will depend on flexibility, creativity, critical thinking, and the ability to connect different ideas—skills that machines still struggle with.

Final Thought

Vinod Khosla believes that to survive and grow in the age of AI, people should stay curious, learn broadly, and avoid depending on just one job or skill. Being adaptable and thinking creatively will be key to staying ahead.
