The Bigger Picture
India has had its share of aviation mishaps, but this one hits differently. It wasn’t fog or faulty landing gear. It was takeoff—when everything’s supposed to be under control.
We don’t yet know if it was mechanical failure, pilot error, or something else entirely. But here’s a question many will ask tonight: If this can happen on a flagship international route, how safe is domestic air travel?
And while politicians will issue condolences and committees will be formed, the public’s anxiety is already airborne.
