Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba has entered the smart wearable market by announcing its new Quark AI Glasses. These smart glasses use artificial intelligence and are powered by Alibaba’s own Qwen language model and Quark AI assistant. The company plans to release the product in China by the end of 2025.
According to reports, Alibaba sees smart glasses as the next big thing in technology, just like smartphones. The company has been working hard to develop AI tools that can compete with global companies like OpenAI.

Features of Quark AI Glasses
The Quark AI Glasses will come with many useful features, such as:
- Hands-free calling
- Music streaming
- Real-time language translation

Competition in the Market
With these new glasses, Alibaba is now in direct competition with:
- Meta (which makes smart glasses with Ray-Ban)
- Xiaomi (which launched AI glasses earlier this year)
Other big tech companies are also joining the smart glasses race. Google, for example, is planning to release its own Android-powered smart glasses in 2026 with help from Samsung. These glasses will include features like:
- Live translation
- Memory recall
- Navigation
Google is also teaming up with eyewear brands like Gentle Monster, Warby Parker, and Kering Eyewear to make the glasses look stylish.
