The Amarnath Yatra 2025 will begin on July 3 and end on August 9, making it a 38-day pilgrimage, the shortest duration ever for the annual yatra. The decision was taken to ensure better safety and management of the event.

Tight Security Arrangements for Devotees
To make the journey safer, the government will deploy 581 companies from different Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). For the first time, jammers will be used to protect the Yatra convoys from any threats.

- Quick Action Teams (QATs) to respond to emergencies
- Bomb Disposal Squads (BDS) to detect explosives
- Sniffer dogs (K9 units) and drones for surveillance
These arrangements will be made on both Pahalgam and Baltal routes leading to the Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir.
Age & Health Rules for Pilgrims
The Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board has set strict age and health rules:
- Children below 13 and elderly above 70 will not be allowed, even with a medical certificate
- Pregnant women are also not allowed to go on the Yatra
These rules are meant to ensure the safety of all pilgrims.
