England’s legendary fast bowler James Anderson recently shared that he feels “out of place” having a cricket trophy named after him alongside Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar.
During an interview with Sky Sports Cricket, Anderson, who turned 42 this year, spoke about his feelings after the new Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy was launched for the India vs England Test series. He said, “I feel completely out of place when I see myself next to him on the trophy. I have so much respect for Sachin. Sometimes when people talk about my achievements, it feels like they’re talking about someone else. I find it hard to believe it’s me who has done all this.

The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy will now be the official name for all future Test series between India and England. Earlier, the teams played for the Pataudi Trophy in England and the Anthony de Mello Trophy in India.
The trophy was unveiled in London before the start of the current five-match Test series. Both Anderson and Tendulkar were present at the event. Speaking at the unveiling, Anderson said, “It’s a proud moment for me and my family. This series has always been special, with a long history and many unforgettable moments between the two teams.”
Despite being one of the greatest fast bowlers in cricket history, Anderson remains humble and honored to be linked with a legend like Sachin Tendulkar.
