Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, shocked Bihar’s political circles this week with a Facebook post that went instantly viral. In the post, he introduced a woman named Anushka Yadav, claiming they had been in a relationship for 12 years.
“I am Tej Pratap Yadav, and the person with me in this picture is Anushka Yadav,” he wrote. “We have loved each other for the past 12 years. I’ve wanted to tell you all for a long time but didn’t know how.” The post included a photo of the couple, smiling and close—setting the internet ablaze.

But for party workers, voters, and even Tej Pratap’s own family, it raised serious questions—about credibility, timing, and personal responsibility in public life.
Because just hours later, Tej Pratap claimed the post was fake.
After the post exploded online, Tej Pratap backtracked. On X (formerly Twitter), he claimed that his Facebook account had been hacked and that the photo was “edited.” He called it a conspiracy to defame him and his family.
But by then, the damage was done. His “mystery lover” had become a headline. Political gossip exploded. And soon, Lalu Prasad Yadav stepped in.
By Sunday evening, RJD chief Lalu Yadav made a move no one expected—he expelled Tej Pratap from the party and disowned him publicly, calling his behavior “irresponsible.” A dramatic step, but in the chaos of Bihar politics, maybe not shocking.
Tej Pratap, already in the news for his messy separation from Aishwarya Rai (daughter of another political heavyweight), now found himself at the center of yet another public storm.
So, who is Anushka Yadav?
That’s the golden question. As of now, very little is known about her. According to a report by The Economic Times, Anushka is from Bihar and may be the sister of one of Tej Pratap’s former close friends—someone who has since left the RJD. She had never been in the media spotlight before.
And yet, thanks to a single post, she became the most Googled woman in Bihar.
This isn’t just a love story gone wrong—or viral. It’s a reminder that in Indian politics, the personal is always political. A single Facebook post can trigger headlines, family feuds, and party exits. All it takes is one moment of unfiltered emotion—or one hack, depending on what you believe.
The truth? Either Tej Pratap got hacked. Or heartbroken. Or both.
