Apple could finally give fans what they’ve wanted for years: a truly full-screen iPhone. According to new reports, iPhone 19—expected to launch in 2027—may come with an edge-to-edge display, completely free of notches, holes, or even the Dynamic Island.

This move would mark the 20th anniversary of the iPhone in dramatic style. Apple is reportedly planning to hide the front-facing camera under the display. That means users will get a screen with no visual interruptions at all—just glass, top to bottom.

Watching videos, playing games, or just scrolling through Instagram could feel more immersive.

With no cutouts or black bars at the top, the experience would feel cleaner and more futuristic.

This shift also signals Apple’s commitment to innovation, even as rivals like Samsung and Xiaomi experiment with similar under-display camera tech.

iPhone 18: The Transition Phase

But don’t expect the full-screen jump just yet. In 2026, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to take a middle step.

These models may ditch the Dynamic Island and instead feature a single small hole for the front camera. Under-display Face ID may also be introduced for the first time.

It’s a clear signal: Apple is gradually phasing out the old design, preparing users for the big leap with iPhone 19.

According to MacRumors, these changes are already in the works, aligning with Apple’s long-term strategy for design evolution.

A Look Back—and a Look Forward

In the past, companies like OnePlus and ZTE have tried under-display cameras, with mixed results. OnePlus launched a pop-up camera with the OnePlus 7 Pro in 2019. More recently, Red Magic phones have used under-display solutions—but none have quite nailed it.

Apple, however, tends to wait until a technology is refined before making it mainstream. So while other phones have tried it, iPhone 19 could be the one that finally gets it right.

The Bigger Picture: Apple’s Changing Strategy

Interestingly, some reports suggest Apple may shift to two iPhone releases per year, possibly starting in 2027. That’s the same year iPhone 19 is expected.

This could mean faster innovation, shorter wait times, and more pressure on users’ wallets. But for tech lovers, it also means more excitement more often.

iPhone 17: What’s Next?

Meanwhile, we’re still months away from the launch of the iPhone 17 series, expected in September 2025. That model may arrive without the anti-reflective coating seen in earlier Pro models, according to another leak.

So yes—change is coming. But it’s coming in phases. First a hole, then no hole, and finally… just glass.

Final Word: The Future Looks Clear—Literally

iPhone 19 could be the cleanest iPhone yet, finally giving users a true edge-to-edge screen with no cutouts at all. Whether that’s a game-changer or just a nice design flex depends on how well the under-display tech performs.

But if Apple gets it right, 2027 might be remembered not just as the iPhone’s 20th birthday—but the year Apple finally delivered on its dream design.
