Asian Paints is no longer just about colors and walls. In a strategic move, Asian Paints has acquired the remaining 40% stake in White Teak for ₹188 crore, turning the luxury lighting and decor brand into a wholly owned subsidiary.
This deal marks the company’s next step toward becoming a complete home decor solution provider. From paint to furniture, lighting, and bath fittings—Asian Paints is quietly building an empire inside your home.

Let’s rewind.
In April 2022, Asian Paints first stepped into White Teak with a 49% stake, partnering with the brand’s original promoters, Pawan Mehta and Gagan Mehta. The collaboration gave Asian Paints a strong foothold in premium lighting and accessories. Then, in June 2023, it increased its share to 60%, showing clear signs of long-term intent.

Now in June 2025, by acquiring the final 40%, Asian Paints has completed the takeover. And this isn’t just a business deal—it’s a big signal that Asian Paints wants more than just to color your walls.
White Teak brings with it a portfolio of high-end lamps, chandeliers, ceiling lights, and other premium lighting products. It’s a brand known for stylish and modern designs that speak to the taste of urban Indian households. With this acquisition, Asian Paints now has direct access to a fast-growing niche within home interiors.
More than that, it makes the brand stronger in offering end-to-end home solutions. This helps them compete better with newer home lifestyle brands and interior design startups. With the shift in consumer habits—people now want their homes to be stylish and “Instagram-ready”—Asian Paints is making sure it owns every part of that journey.
In a statement, the company said the acquisition aligns with its long-term strategy and strengthens its home decor ecosystem.
It’s clear—Asian Paints isn’t just painting walls anymore. It’s shaping the look and feel of Indian homes, piece by piece.
