Bajaj Auto’s profit in the fourth quarter increased by 6% compared to the same time last year, reaching ₹2,049 crore. The company saw good growth in sales of premium motorcycles, electric scooters, and commercial vehicles. Exports also grew strongly. However, overall revenue did not grow by double digits because KTM exports were temporarily stopped.

The premium bike brands KTM and Triumph are becoming more popular in India. Triumph sales doubled and reached about 12,000 units. Bajaj Auto is now focusing on smaller cities (Tier 2 and Tier 3) to attract more customers.

For the quarter, profit before tax (PBT) was ₹2,703 crore, which is 6% higher than last year but 3% lower than the previous quarter. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) were ₹2,451 crore, up 6% from last year but down 5% from the last quarter. The EBITDA margin stayed steady at 20.2%, slightly better than last year and unchanged from the previous quarter.

This is the sixth quarter in a row where the EBITDA margin stayed above 20%. The good margin was helped by better gross margins due to favorable currency rates and lower costs on the new Chetak electric scooter. This balanced out the higher spending on branding and manufacturing tools.

Compared to the previous quarter, net profit dropped 3%, and sales fell by 5%.

For the whole year FY25, Bajaj Auto’s revenue grew by 12% to ₹51,431 crore. Net profit went up 9% to ₹8,151 crore. EBITDA increased 14% to ₹10,101 crore, and PBT rose 13% to ₹11,052 crore. The yearly EBITDA margin improved to 20.2%, up from 19.7% last year.

The company’s cash from operations was ₹7,266.73 crore in FY25, slightly less than ₹7,478.27 crore in FY24.

Domestic sales volume fell 7% to 6,13,248 units in Q4 FY25, compared to 6,57,330 units last year. Compared to the previous quarter, volumes dropped 13%. Bajaj sold 5,01,096 two-wheelers and 1,12,152 commercial vehicles during the quarter.

Exports did well, with 4,89,686 units shipped in Q4 FY25, up 19% from 4,11,246 units last year.

The company’s board recommended a dividend of ₹210 per share for the year ending March 31, 2025.

After these results, Bajaj Auto’s share price fell by 2.24% to ₹8,674.40.
