The next generation of Indian cricket is ready for a big test.
The BCCI has officially revealed the India U19 squad for their upcoming England tour, running from June 24 to July 23, 2025. This high-stakes tour will feature one 50-over warm-up, five Youth ODIs, and two multi-day matches—a crucial stretch for grooming young stars in international conditions.
This isn’t just another junior tour.
This is India quietly preparing its post-Kohli, post-Rohit future.
And yes, it’s happening with some teenage prodigies already shaped by the IPL machine.

Leading the pack is Ayush Mhatre, a 17-year-old batter from Chennai Super Kings, now named captain. Just months ago, he was belting sixes in yellow—now, he wears blue and leads from the front.
But the biggest buzz?
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old wonderkid from Rajasthan Royals, already turning heads with mature batting beyond his years. Think Sachin’s debut age, but add IPL exposure and England’s green pitches. No pressure, kid.
A chance to prove more than talent
Abhigyan Kundu, the vice-captain and main wicketkeeper, brings stability behind the stumps. The squad balances fire and focus—there’s power in names like Henil Patel, Mohammed Enaan, and Yudhajit Guha, who’ve already made noise in domestic circuits.
It’s not just about flair.
These are players trained on turf, tested in pressure, and now stepping onto a global platform.
The schedule: From Loughborough to Chelmsford
The team will tour across six venues:
- Loughborough University
- Hove
- Northampton
- Worcester
- Beckenham
- Chelmsford
These aren’t just cricket grounds. They’re testing labs—each with a different pitch story, weather twist, and English crowd temperament.
And for India’s teens, it’s a mental and technical exam—can they adapt?
“This tour is not just about winning. It’s about finding who’s ready for the big league,” a senior BCCI official told ESPNcricinfo.
