Shankar’s wife, Manasa, who was also 26, had been killed. The couple had been married for over five years and had a three-year-old daughter. They lived in a rented house in Heelalige. Both of them worked in private companies — Shankar in Koramangala and Manasa in Bommasandra.
According to the police, Shankar suspected that his wife was having an affair. This led to frequent fights between them. A few days ago, Manasa had even left their home to stay in a paying guest (PG) accommodation. She returned later, hoping to fix their relationship for the sake of their daughter, but the arguments continued.
