Delhi is on high alert this week. Over the past three days, 10 schools and one college have received bomb threats by email. This has triggered panic across the city.
On Wednesday morning, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in Lodhi Estate was closed after receiving a threat. The school informed parents by email that the police advised shutting down for the day. A full sanitisation and search were conducted by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

Other schools that got similar threats include:
- St. Thomas School, Dwarka
- Vasant Valley School, Vasant Kunj
- The Mother’s International School, Hauz Khas
- Richmond Global School, Paschim Vihar
- And several others across Delhi
Police, bomb squads, and fire tenders rushed to all the affected schools. Areas were cordoned off. Parents were told to stay calm as police checked every corner of the campuses.
St. Stephen’s College Also Targeted
It’s not just schools. Even St. Stephen’s College at Delhi University got a bomb threat. The email said a bomb was planted in the library. Students and staff were evacuated immediately.
The Dog Squad, Fire Brigade, and Special Task Forces were sent in. So far, no bomb or explosive has been found. But security checks are still ongoing.
No Bombs Found — But Fear Remains
The Fire Department said that nothing suspicious has been found yet. But the fear is real. Schools in Chanakyapuri and Dwarka also received threats earlier this week. Those emails were sent directly to the Delhi Police.
In one case, the email even had anti-Tamil Nadu government messages. The police say they are treating the threats seriously and investigating all leads.
Right now, Delhi is tense. When schools and colleges are targeted, it hits everyone hard. Kids are scared. Parents are worried. And people are asking how these threats are even getting through.
It’s not just about email security. It’s about public safety, trust, and how fast our systems react.
