The Sony Bravia 8 II OLED TV is here, and it’s already turning heads. As a 25-year-old who loves binge-watching, gaming, and having friends over for a cinema-like experience, I was excited to put it through its paces.

So, does it live up to the hype, or does it miss a few key points?

The Sony BRAVIA 8 II OLED is the 2025 successor to the Sony A95L OLED. It technically sits above the Sony BRAVIA 8 OLED, which has been carried over from 2024. It uses a new QD-OLED panel, which is the same as the one found in the Samsung S95F OLED. It has everything to be a top… pic.twitter.com/l0bTL4lm4r

Why the Sony Bravia 8 II OLED TV Shines

Let’s start with the good, because there’s a lot to love here.

Picture Quality:
The OLED panel delivers deep black, rich color, and stunning contrast. Whether you’re watching a dark thriller or a vibrant action scene, everything looks rich and true to life.

Excellent Color Accuracy:
The Sony Bravia 8 II OLED TV shows skin tones naturally and produces realistic colors across all content — thanks to its powerful Cognitive processor XR.

Google TV Interface:
Using Google TV is a breeze. It’s smooth, fast, and lets you find your favorite shows quickly. Plus, it comes with all the apps you’d expect.

Acoustic Surface Audio+:
This technology makes it feel like the sound is directly coming from the screen — perfect for adding depth to your home cinema experience.

Where It Falls Short

Of course, the Bravia 8 II isn’t perfect.

Not Bright Enough:
Compared to some Samsung and LG models, it’s not the brightest TV on the market. That means it might struggle in a very well-lit room.

Gaming Features:
The Sony Bravia 8 II OLED TV has HDMI 2.1, but it’s not a gamer’s first choice. It falls a bit short on advanced gaming tweaks that hardcore gamers love.

Design:
Design-wise, it’s sleek and simple, but it’s not a show-stopper. It sticks to a clean, minimal look without adding much “wow” to your living room.

Is It Right for You?

If you want rich color, deep black, a smooth UI, and great audio — this TV is a solid contender. But if you’re a hardcore gamer or you need a really bright TV for a sunny room, you might want to consider something else.

Meanwhile, this TV performs well for most people who love cinema-like picture and accurate color. It’s a strong contender in the OLED world — just not quite king.

The Sony Bravia 8 II OLED TV is a proud, strong contender. It might not outperform all its rivals, but it delivers a rich, cinematic experience that’s hard to match. If you want a TV that focuses on picture, color, and audio — this is a wonderful choice.
