A young man from China, known as Xiaolin, went missing for six days after he left to trek through the mountains in Zhejiang province. He was heartbroken after a breakup with his girlfriend and decided to escape the world by going into the wilderness without telling anyone.

Xiaolin’s last contact was with his brother on June 19. After that, he didn’t respond to any calls or messages. Worried, his family filed a missing person report from his hometown, Changsha.

According to the police in Yuhang District, Xiaolin left his mobile phone at his rented apartment on June 20. Surveillance cameras later showed him walking towards the Dalang Mountain area early on June 21 — and then he vanished.

A massive search operation began. Over 100 police officers, volunteers, drones, and sniffer dogs joined the effort to find him. After six days, Xiaolin was finally found alive in the mountains. He was weak but safe and is now in stable condition.

Police shared that Xiaolin walked around 40 kilometers, passing through areas like Fuyang, Zhongtai, and Lin’an. He survived by drinking water from mountain springs and eating wild fruits. For three days, he had nothing to eat or drink before his body began to give out.

“When we found him, his clothes were torn and he looked exhausted,” said Officer Zhu. “He later managed to survive by eating near village homes and drinking spring water.”

This strange story quickly went viral on Chinese social media. One user commented, “I’m shocked he left his phone behind.” Another said, “The girl is lucky she broke up with someone this extreme.”

Thankfully, Xiaolin was found before anything worse happened. His emotional journey has sparked a lot of discussion about love, heartbreak, and healing.
