
Coldplay’s concert in Ahmedabad attracted over 2.2 lakh fans and generated an economic boost of ₹641 crore, highlighting the growing concert industry in India.
According to a report, Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres’ concert created a big economic impact, especially in Ahmedabad, with ₹392 crore coming from local spending on hotels, restaurants, transport, and shopping.

The impact was seen across many sectors like tourism, hospitality, transport, logistics, and retail. The concert also created opportunities for local creators and workers and promoted sustainable practices, diversity, and inclusivity.
India’s Concert Scene is Growing In 2024, there were 70 to 80 concert days in India where the audience exceeded 10,000 people. This growth is thanks to rising incomes, better digital technology, and people looking for world-class entertainment.

Spending by Concert-goers A survey by BookMyShow of 2,821 concert attendees showed that for every ₹100 spent on a concert ticket, attendees spent an extra ₹585 on things like hotels, travel, shopping, and dining.
Almost 47% of people who attended Coldplay’s concert came from outside Ahmedabad, spending an average of ₹12,401 on accommodation. Some spent over ₹15,000 due to high hotel prices.
Concert-goers also spent an average of ₹18,912 on flight tickets, ₹10,466 on taxis, and ₹8,071 on personal cars.
Coldplay’s India Tour Coldplay’s India tour started in Mumbai on January 18 and continued with performances on January 19 and 21. The band then performed two shows in Ahmedabad at the Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25 and 26.
Coldplay includes Chris Martin (lead vocalist and pianist), Jonny Buckland (guitarist), Guy Berryman (bassist), Will Champion (drummer), and manager Phil Harvey.
