In a shocking incident in Gujarat, a 25-year-old woman police officer was killed by her live-in partner, a CRPF jawan, after a heated argument late Friday night. After the crime, the man tried to end his life but survived and later surrendered to the police.
The victim, Aruna Jadav, was working as an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) at the Anjar police station. Her partner, Dilip Jadav, is a jawan in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), currently posted in Manipur. Both belonged to nearby villages in the Surendranagar district and had been in a long-term relationship. They were planning to get married.

At the time of the incident, both were on leave and had gone to Ahmedabad for shopping and a short vacation. They were staying at a rented house in Gangotri Society, Anjar.
According to police, the couple got into a serious argument on Friday night around 11 PM. In a fit of rage, Dilip allegedly strangled Aruna to death. Realizing what he had done, he attempted suicide by slashing his wrist and drinking phenyl, a cleaning chemical. However, he vomited and survived.
He stayed with Aruna’s body until 10 AM the next morning. Then, he walked into the Anjar police station and confessed to the murder.
Sagar Bagmar, Superintendent of Police (Kutch East), confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing.
Ajaysinh Gohil, Inspector at Anjar police station, added that police rushed to the scene after the confession, found Aruna’s body, informed her family, and sent the body for postmortem. Dilip is now in police custody.
Police are continuing to investigate the exact events that led to the tragic incident.
