Dan Rivera, a popular paranormal investigator, was found dead in a hotel room in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on July 13. He was 54 years old. At the time, he was touring with the infamous haunted doll, Annabelle, known from The Conjuring movie series.
Annabelle is a real Raggedy Ann doll that is usually kept in a glass case at the Warrens’ Occult Museum in Connecticut. But recently, the doll was taken out for a special tour across the U.S., and Dan Rivera was part of the team leading this spooky event.

Authorities say Rivera’s death is not suspicious, but an autopsy is being done to find out the exact cause.
Just a week before he passed away, Rivera shared a chilling video of Annabelle on Facebook. His caption read:
“GET READY GETTYSBURG! ON THE ROAD THIS WEEK. IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN.”
His last Facebook post came on July 8, where he announced the doll’s next stop:
“MAINE… SHE’S COMING!!!!”
He explained that for the first time, Annabelle would be shown at the Maine Paranormal and Horror Convention.
He warned followers:
“The doll that inspired The Conjuring Universe will be on full display, secured and under strict observation… but don’t say we didn’t warn you.”
He encouraged fans to face their fears and wrote:
“Stand in the presence of America’s most haunted object. Take a once-in-a-lifetime photo. Hear the true stories behind the legend. Feel the chills as you lock eyes with evil. Not for the faint of heart.”
And finally, he ended with a haunting line:
“Annabelle is waiting. Will you come see her… or will she come see you?”
Sadly, Rivera passed away before he could attend the Maine event.
After his death, many people started commenting on his Facebook posts, expressing their sadness and raising questions about the dangers of dealing with haunted objects.
One person warned, “I hear you can tour with her but NEVER take her out of the box!”
Another said, “They keep messing with the spirit world without understanding the risks.”
Rivera’s passing has left fans shocked, and his eerie final post has added to the mystery surrounding Annabelle.
