A woman and her brother-in-law killed her husband in Delhi. What looked like an accident turned out to be a planned murder.

On July 13, Karan Dev, 36, was taken to Mata Rooprani Maggo Hospital by his wife, Sushmita. She said he got an electric shock at home. The hospital declared him dead.

The family believed it was an accident. They did not ask for a post-mortem. But Delhi Police had doubts. Because of Karan’s age and the strange situation, they insisted on an autopsy.

Sushmita and her cousin Rahul did not want it. But the police still sent the body to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for the post-mortem.

Three days later, the truth started to come out.

Karan’s younger brother, Kunal, gave the police shocking proof. He shared Instagram chats between Sushmita and Rahul. The two were in love. They were also planning to kill Karan.

The chats showed they searched online about how many sleeping pills can kill. On the night of the murder, they gave Karan 15 sleeping pills during dinner. After he passed out, Sushmita even said she wanted to take a nap.

While he was still breathing, they gave him an electric shock. They wanted to make it look like an accident.

Police have now arrested Sushmita. Rahul is also under investigation.

During questioning, Sushmita confessed to the murder. She said her husband used to beat her and ask for money. She felt mentally and physically tired. A day before Karwachauth, he had slapped her.

The police have filed a case. They are waiting for the full post-mortem report and are moving ahead with more arrests.

This murder is not just a crime. It is a story of love gone wrong. A family destroyed by lies and greed.

Even more shocking is how the murder was planned — over Instagram chats and Google searches. It shows how easy it has become to hide deadly plans behind a screen.
