
Delhi has introduced a new Electric Vehicle (EV) policy that aims to create 20,000 jobs by building a city-wide network of charging stations and battery swapping centers. The policy, shared by Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, focuses on promoting electric vehicles (EVs) to reduce pollution.
The main goal of the policy is to encourage more people to switch to EVs, especially in popular vehicle categories like two-wheelers, buses, three-wheelers, and goods carriers. The government is working towards creating 20,000 EV-related jobs during this policy period.

By 2027, the Delhi government aims for 95% of all new vehicle registrations to be electric. This shift will help reduce pollution in the city. The policy also focuses on making charging stations and battery swapping facilities available to the public. The government plans to ensure that by 2030, there will be 100% availability of these recharging stations across the city.
Additionally, the policy includes setting up centers to collect used batteries and creating a network of charging and battery swapping stations throughout Delhi.
This new EV policy is a big step toward a cleaner and greener future for Delhi.
