
On Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu paid their heartfelt tributes to the great leader who shaped India’s Constitution and stood for social justice.
PM Modi Pays Tribute and Launches Projects
Prime Minister Modi remembered Dr BR Ambedkar as a guiding light for building a strong and self-reliant India. In a post on social media platform X, he said:

“On behalf of all Indians, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Babasaheb on his birth anniversary. His ideals continue to inspire our journey toward social justice and a developed India.”
To mark Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, PM Modi is visiting Haryana today to launch several development projects.
- He will first go to Hisar at around 10:15 AM, where he will launch a commercial flight from Hisar to Ayodhya and lay the foundation stone for a new terminal building.
- Later, at 12:30 PM, he will go to Yamuna Nagar to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of more projects and speak at a public gathering.

President Murmu’s Tribute to Dr Ambedkar
President Droupadi Murmu also shared a heartfelt message on X. She called Dr BR Ambedkar a great social reformer, educationist, jurist, and economist who fought for equality.
“Despite facing many hardships, Babasaheb earned global respect. He fought for the rights of women and the underprivileged, and believed education is a powerful tool for change,” she said.
President Murmu encouraged everyone to follow Dr Ambedkar’s ideals and help build a society based on equality and harmony.
Celebrating Ambedkar Jayanti Across India
Dr BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, also known as Ambedkar Jayanti, is a public holiday in India. Schools, banks, and many government offices remain closed.
People all over the country celebrate by:
- Offering flowers at statues of Dr Ambedkar
- Lighting candles
- Organising cultural events to honour his memory
