
A 5.9 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Afghanistan early Wednesday morning, with tremors felt across the Kashmir Valley and other areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
The earthquake hit at 4:43 AM IST, with its center located in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. According to the National Centre for Seismology, the quake occurred at a depth of 75 kilometers, at latitude 35.83°N and longitude 70.60°E.

People in many areas of Kashmir said they felt the ground shake for a few seconds. Fortunately, no damage or injuries have been reported so far from the region.
