India has safely evacuated 110 Indian students from Iran, a country currently facing conflict. Out of these, 90 students are from Jammu and Kashmir. The students are expected to land in Delhi tonight. Visuals from Doha airport showed them boarding an IndiGo flight for their journey back home.
The Jammu and Kashmir Students’ Association (JKSA) thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar for helping bring the students home. The association also appreciated the government for supporting the families of the students during this stressful time.
The JKSA expressed hope that the remaining Indian students in Iran will also be brought back soon. They confirmed that the entire journey—including the final leg from Delhi to Srinagar—is free of cost, thanks to the government’s efforts.

In addition, the Indian consulate in Bandar Abbas, Iran, requested another university—Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences—to allow 11 Indian students to leave the campus due to security threats. Background: Ongoing Conflict Between Israel and Iran
This evacuation comes amid a serious conflict between Israel and Iran. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei warned the United States of “serious consequences” if it attacks Iran. Meanwhile, Israel claims to have bombed a nuclear site near Tehran, and Iran responded with hypersonic missile attacks.
Former US President Donald Trump said the US is not involved in the conflict but warned that his patience is running out.
The fighting began on Friday when Israel launched large-scale airstrikes on Iran. In response, Iran fired missiles and drones. On Wednesday morning, over 50 Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes in Tehran, targeting weapon manufacturing sites.
