
A massive fire broke out at Mahatma Gandhi University in Nalgonda district around 6:00 PM, destroying a large area of greenery. Initial reports suggest that 50 to 100 acres of trees and plants have been lost in the fire.
Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and are working hard to bring the flames under control. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and authorities are assessing the damage.

About Mahatma Gandhi University
Mahatma Gandhi University is located in Nalgonda, about 90 km from Hyderabad. It was established to provide quality higher education in Andhra Pradesh.
Originally known by another name, the university was renamed Mahatma Gandhi University through a government amendment in 1991.

In the 2010-11 academic year, its headquarters were set up in Nalgonda town. A permanent campus is being developed on 240 acres of land along the Nalgonda-Narketpally state highway in Anneparthy, about 7 km away.
