
At least 10 people have died, and 33 are still missing after heavy flash floods hit Yuzhong County in Gansu province, in northwest China, according to Chinese state news on Friday.
Heavy rain started on Thursday and caused sudden floods. These floods knocked out power and phone services in the Xinglong Mountain area. Because of the floods, more than 4,000 people are stuck in four villages.

The rain also caused a landslide near the city of Lanzhou in the mountains.

Chinese President Xi Jinping has asked for strong rescue work and flood safety measures.
In one village called Maliantan in Yuzhong County, three people went missing after a landslide on Thursday night.
Local authorities said the heaviest rain measured was 195 millimeters (about 7.7 inches) by early Friday.
