With AI becoming a big part of technology, many people wonder how to succeed and get a job in this new world. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella says the key is to learn the basics well, like how to think like a computer and how systems are designed.

In a talk with YouTuber Sajjad Khade, Nadella said, “If you want to be a software engineer, it’s very important to really understand the basics of software and how to think computationally.”

He also mentioned that as AI grows, more people will need to become software architects – experts who design and guide how software works.

Nadella’s advice comes at a time when AI tools are getting very smart and can even do some coding and data work by themselves. While some people worry AI might take jobs away, Nadella says AI is more about helping people do their jobs better, not replacing them.

His thoughts are similar to those of Google CEO Sundar Pichai. Both leaders say AI should be seen as a tool to make work easier. Pichai also said Google will hire more engineers in 2026 to focus on creative and important parts of technology.

while knowing how to use new AI tools is helpful, the most important thing is to understand the basic ideas behind technology. That’s what will help people stay valuable and succeed in the future.
