On May 8–9, the Golden Temple—a symbol of peace—was the target of Pakistani drone and missile attacks. Every single one was stopped cold.
India’s armed forces launched Operation Sindoor in response to Pakistan-backed terrorism. The trigger? The brutal Pahalgam attack that killed 26 Indian tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. But Pakistan didn’t stop at killing civilians. It tried something darker: an attack on the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

That’s when India stepped in—not with fear, but with fire.
India’s Response: Fast, Fierce, and Focused
Operation Sindoor wasn’t a symbolic move. It was surgical.
On May 7, India targeted terror hubs across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). One major hit? Lashkar-e-Taiba’s headquarters in Muridke—a known breeding ground for militants.
While India made sure only terrorist targets were hit (because we still play by the rules), Pakistan chose cowardice, targeting cities and the Golden Temple with Kamikaze drones and missiles.
Here’s the difference: India hit back at terror. Pakistan hit back at faith.
#WATCH | Amritsar, Punjab: A soldier of the Indian Army says, “…Only 10% of the ammunition of ground-based air defence weapons and Army air defence weapons were used…We have recovered Kamikaze drones and micro-drones like YIHA-III and Songar, which are likely of Turkish… https://t.co/E3IjQWrlJ7 pic.twitter.com/5U3wcyFZ5n

The Golden Temple Stood Safe
Thanks to the AKASH missile system, L-70 air defence guns, and sharp soldiers, every incoming threat was shot down. India’s air defence only needed 10% of its ammo stock to get the job done. That’s efficiency with firepower.
Debris of the destroyed drones and missiles—some reportedly of Turkish origin (YIHA-III and Songar)—was shown by the Indian Army. The proof is there.

Pakistan’s White Flag Moment
On the night of May 8–9, Pakistan tried a ground-level infiltration along the border. But Indian troops responded with deadly accuracy. By morning, Pakistan was waving a white flag.
Major General Kartik C Seshadri summed it up best: “We target only terrorists, with precision. Pakistan uses terrorism as a national policy.” Sharp words—but the truth cuts deeper than any missile.
Ceasefire? Still On—Because We Said So
Even after days of cross-border firing, the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) confirmed the India-Pakistan ceasefire will hold. That’s India’s strength: we can fight and still offer peace.
Meanwhile, our soldiers stay ready for air attacks, hybrid warfare, and infiltration. No sleep lost. No ground given.
This isn’t just about a temple or a city. It’s about a message: India will not allow holy sites to be terror targets.
And if Pakistan thinks this is 1999, they’re living in denial.
This is Modi’s India—bold, prepared, and not afraid to call out terror in the garb of diplomacy.
