Rockstar Games’ upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) is one of the most talked-about games right now. Leaks and rumors have made fans even more excited. But a recent interview has raised concerns about when PC gamers will get to play it. If history repeats itself, those waiting for a PC version might have to wait a long time.
Why Might GTA 6 Be Delayed on PC?
An old interview with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, which was recently mentioned by IGN (via News 24 Online), has brought back fears of a delayed PC release. The interview confirmed that GTA 6 will first launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, there was no mention of a PC version at launch.

When asked why PC was left out, Zelnick said that Rockstar usually releases its games in stages. They focus on console versions first and bring the game to PC later. This happened with GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, both of which came to PC long after their console releases.

When Will GTA 6 Be Available on PC?
The big question is – how long will PC players have to wait? Take-Two has said that GTA 6 will launch on consoles in 2025, but based on past trends, the PC version might not arrive until 2026.
Despite the delay, Zelnick admitted that PC gaming is important to Rockstar and Take-Two. However, releasing the game on consoles first could push more people to buy PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X to play the game sooner.
Could the Wait Be Even Longer?
While a 2026 release for PC seems likely, some fans fear it could take even longer. A Reddit user (u/aachou) speculated that PC players might have to wait until 2027. This would be disappointing for many, but Rockstar has not given any official confirmation about a PC release date yet.
For now, PC gamers can only wait as Rockstar prepares for GTA 6’s big console release in 2025.
