Hero MotoCorp, India’s biggest two-wheeler maker, reported a 10% year-on-year (YoY) growth in June 2025. The company dispatched 5.54 lakh motorcycles and scooters during the month. That’s not just a number—it’s a clear sign that the brand is riding high across both city roads and village lanes.
Strong Motorcycle and Scooter Sales
Motorcycles did the heavy lifting as usual, with 5.12 lakh units sold, showing an 8.33% YoY growth. But the real surprise came from scooters. Hero sold 41,305 scooters, a massive 36.68% jump compared to last year.

That means more Indians—especially in cities—are now picking scooters for their daily rides. Short trips, traffic, and rising fuel prices might be the reason, and Hero seems ready to meet that shift.
Rural India Rides On
Domestic sales were strong at 5.25 lakh units, up 6.86% YoY. But here’s the kicker: exports grew by a jaw-dropping 139.59%, hitting nearly 29,000 units. Clearly, Hero MotoCorp isn’t just making waves in India—it’s going global in a big way.
The company also reported 3.94 lakh vehicle registrations on the VAHAN portal, showing real sales and not just dispatch numbers. It’s proof of steady demand across both rural and urban markets, even before the festive season.

EV Push: VIDA Powers Up
Hero’s electric brand, VIDA, kept building momentum. It dispatched 7,178 units in June and recorded 7,665 VAHAN registrations. That’s real, on-road action. With fuel costs rising and urban buyers looking for clean options, VIDA’s growing fast.
The new VIDA VX2 also hit the market last month. Branded as “Badalte India ka Scooter,” the VX2 comes with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS). That means you pay only for the distance you ride—no need to buy the battery upfront. Smart move, Hero.
Festive Season Outlook Bright
Hero MotoCorp expects monsoons and a positive economy to boost demand further. With strong rural buying, rising exports, and electric innovation, the company seems ready to ride a strong second half.
And it’s not just about numbers. With partnerships like Harley-Davidson and Zero Motorcycles, plus investments in Ather Energy and Euler Motors, Hero is clearly betting big on the future.
Why It Matters
Hero MotoCorp is not just surviving—it’s evolving. From EV scooters to global exports, the brand is shifting gears fast. And with rural India still buying big, Hero’s deep network and brand trust are paying off.
