The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a new video that shows parts of their attack on terror camps in Pakistan during Operation Sindoor.

The video has a voiceover saying, “Across the Himalayas, over the island chains, over oceans deep, the IAF stands ready, alert, unseen, and unmatched.”

It also includes clips from past important strikes by the IAF — like the Balakot air strike in 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack and the surgical strikes in Dhaka in 1971, which helped Bangladesh gain freedom.

In Operation Sindoor, the IAF shot down six Pakistani aircraft. This news came just after Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh said the air force destroyed five Pakistani fighter jets and one big aircraft during the operation.

He said this was the largest surface-to-air kill ever recorded by India. The strikes happened on May 7, targeting terrorist bases near the border and inside Pakistan.

“We confirmed at least five fighter jets and one large aircraft were destroyed. This large aircraft was hit about 300 kilometers away,” said Singh during a speech in Bengaluru.

The IAF chief also said that some aircraft under repair in a hangar, including a few F-16 jets, were damaged during the attack.

Besides the aircraft, many drones and missiles from Pakistan fell into Indian territory but did not cause any harm.

The video shows the destroyed AWC hangar after the attack.

Singh explained that the airfield was attacked based on intelligence information. He said, “We targeted the main building where terrorist plans were made, which also served as a civilian terminal sometimes. We also hit the UAB hangar and radar site at the Sukkur airbase.”
