Air India Suspends Tel Aviv Flights Until May 25 Amid Rising Tensions

Due to increasing tensions between India and Pakistan, Air India has suspended all flights to and from Tel Aviv until May 25, 2025. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the airline said passengers with valid tickets for travel before May 25 can either reschedule without paying extra fees or get a full refund.

IndiGo has also cancelled flights to and from several Indian cities, including Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Kishangarh, and Rajkot. These cancellations will continue until midnight on May 10, 2025. IndiGo assured passengers that updates will be shared on their official channels and support will be given for any changes in travel plans.

Meanwhile, Mumbai International Airport remains open, but has warned travelers of longer wait times due to tighter security. Passengers have been asked to arrive early, cooperate with security staff, and follow official sources for accurate updates.

Other airlines like Akasa Air and SpiceJet have also issued alerts, asking passengers to reach the airport at least 3 hours before departure due to increased security at all Indian airports.

These flight disruptions and security alerts follow Operation Sindoor, a military operation launched by the Indian Armed Forces on May 7, 2025, which targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This was India’s strongest military action inside Pakistan since the 1971 war.

Operation Sindoor was launched in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which killed 26 civilians, including a Nepali national. In recent days, there have also been reports of ceasefire violations by Pakistan’s army along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri, Kupwara, Tangdhar, and Karnah sectors in Jammu and Kashmir.

Passengers are advised to stay updated via airline websites and social media, arrive early at airports, and follow all security instructions.
