
Apple has started rolling out the iOS 18.6 update for iPhones. This update is important because it fixes bugs and improves security. In total, there are 25 improvements, including a Photos app bug fix and 24 security updates.
What’s Fixed in iOS 18.6?
- A bug in the Photos app that stopped memory movies from being shared has been fixed.
- Security issues in Safari’s engine (WebKit) that could expose personal info or mislead users have been addressed.
- VoiceOver (used for accessibility) will no longer read out loud the passcode.
- Privacy indicators (like the orange or green dots showing mic or camera use) will now show correctly.

Which iPhones Can Get iOS 18.6?
You can install iOS 18.6 if you have:
- iPhone Xs, Xs Max, XR
- iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd Gen)
- All iPhone 16 models, including iPhone 16 Pro Max and 16e
Important Note:
The next major update, called iOS 26, is expected in September 2025. It will only work on iPhone 11 and newer models.
How to Install iOS 18.6:
- Open your iPhone’s Settings
- Tap General
- Tap Software Update
- Tap Download and Install
The update is around 1.07GB in size (on iPhone 16 Pro Max), so make sure you have enough storage and are connected to Wi-Fi.
Apple recommends all users install this update to keep their devices safe and working smoothly. Even though there aren’t many new features, the security improvements are crucial.
