
A tragic incident occurred during the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Puri on Sunday. A stampede at Saradhabali, near the Gundicha Temple, led to the death of three people and left many others injured.
Health officials reported that on Friday, during the Rath Yatra, around 750 devotees needed medical help due to exhaustion and pressure from the heavy crowd.

Out of these:
- About 230 people were taken to the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH)
- Around 520 others were treated at the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH)
Most of the devotees were discharged after receiving first aid. However, one seriously ill person was sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack for better treatment.

Currently, 12 patients are still being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
