In a tragic incident in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, a Jharkhand Jaguar constable lost his life and a CRPF jawan was seriously injured after an IED blast on Saturday, according to police reports.
The blast happened in the Radhapora area under Jaraikela police station limits during an anti-Naxal operation.

Kolhan DIG Manoj Ratan Chothe said, “Two jawans — one from the CoBRA 203 battalion and the other from Jharkhand Jaguar — were injured in the blast. They were airlifted to Ranchi for better treatment.”
The injured were identified as Vishnu Saini from CoBRA and Sunil Dhan from Jharkhand Jaguar. Sadly, Sunil Dhan died while receiving treatment in Ranchi. Vishnu Saini’s condition is still critical.
A police statement explained that the blast was caused by Naxalites (Maoists), who also opened fire on the security forces in a forested area near the Chhotanagra and Jaraikela police station borders. The Maoists then escaped into the dense forest.
Security forces responded to the attack and are continuing their anti-Maoist operation in the region. Several IEDs have already been found and defused during the operation.
This incident highlights the ongoing challenges faced by the Jharkhand Jaguar, CRPF, and other forces in fighting Maoist violence in Jharkhand’s remote areas.
