JSW Energy just turned up the heat in India’s green energy game.
The company has successfully added 261 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. Out of this, 189 MW is from solar and 72 MW from wind. With this move, JSW Energy has taken its total installed capacity to a solid 12,760 MW.

This is a big push for green power in India. It’s not just about numbers. It’s about timing. The new capacity comes right before the peak renewable generation season, which means JSW Energy is ready to make the most of it.
A Strong Start to Q1 FY26
With this fresh addition, the company’s total capacity addition in Q1 FY26 stands at 1.9 gigawatts (GW). That includes both organic projects and inorganic deals.
And here’s the big highlight: 56% of JSW Energy’s total capacity is now renewable. That’s more than half.
Here’s the breakdown:
- Wind: 3,554 MW
- Solar: 2,157 MW
- Hydro: 1,391 MW
JSW Energy is clearly putting its money where the future is. And the future is green.

Big Plans, Bigger Vision
JSW Energy isn’t stopping here. The company has a locked-in generation capacity of 29.9 GW.
This includes:
- 12.8 GW already operational
- 12.5 GW under construction (across thermal, solar, wind, and hydro)
- 4.6 GW in the pipeline
But energy generation is only part of the story. JSW Energy is also betting big on energy storage.
Right now, it has:
- 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage
- 2.9 GWh of battery storage
That adds up to 29.3 GWh of locked-in storage. The goal is to hit 40 GWh by 2030.
Aiming for Carbon Neutrality
JSW Energy is not just expanding. It’s aiming high. The company wants to become carbon neutral by 2050.
That’s a bold target. But with this pace, it looks doable.
Why This Matters
In a country like India, clean power is not just a trend. It’s a need. And JSW Energy is stepping up with confidence.
From smart timing to strong numbers, this company is sending a clear message — the green future isn’t coming. It’s already here.
