
A private helicopter flying to Kedarnath Dham had to make an emergency landing in Guptkashi, Uttarakhand, due to a technical problem. The incident took place in Rudraprayag district on Saturday. Fortunately, all passengers on board are safe.

What Happened?
According to Uttarakhand Police, the helicopter belonged to Krestel Aviation Private Limited and was flying from Sirsi to Kedarnath. Instead of landing on a helipad, the pilot made a safe landing on the road near the Bharasu helipad as a safety measure.

DGCA Statement
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) confirmed the details and said that the helicopter, an AW119, was piloted by Captain RPS Sodhi. Shortly after takeoff, the pilot noticed an issue with the helicopter’s control system. As a result, he performed a hard but controlled landing on the road.
All passengers were unharmed. The pilot was sent to the hospital after complaining of back pain

Another Helicopter Incident
In a separate event on June 6, an Indian Air Force (IAF) Apache helicopter also had to make an emergency landing in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. This was due to a technical fault during a routine flight. Both the pilot and co-pilot were safe. After checks, the helicopter continued its journey to the Sarsawa airbase.
