A landslide near Gaurikund in Uttarakhand blocked the trekking path to Kedarnath Dham on Friday night, following heavy rainfall in the area.
The landslide happened when a part of a hill collapsed, making the route unsafe for travel. The Public Works Department has started clearing the path so it can be reopened soon.

Meanwhile, pilgrims who were coming back from Kedarnath are being safely guided by police and security personnel. Those who were going towards the shrine from Gaurikund have been asked to wait until the road is cleared and safe again.
Rescue teams from the Police, SDRF (State Disaster Response Force), and NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) have been sent to the site to help with the clearance work and assist pilgrims.
