The Kia Syros has received a 5-star safety rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash test, making it the first made-in-India car to achieve this top score. This premium sub-4 metre SUV performed strongly in both Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) categories.

Adult Occupant Protection (AOP)
- Frontal crash test (at 64 kmph): 14.21 out of 16 points
- Side crash test (at 50 kmph): 16 out of 16 points
In the frontal test, the Kia Syros provided good protection to the driver and passenger’s head and neck. The driver’s chest was rated as adequate, while the passenger’s chest had good protection. The SUV also showed strong safety for the thighs, pelvis, and feet. Tibia protection (lower legs) was mostly adequate.
In the side impact test, the Kia Syros gave good protection to all parts of the driver’s body. The side pole test also confirmed good protection across all areas.
Child Occupant Protection (COP)
- Total score: 44.42 out of 49
- Dynamic score: 23.42 out of 24
- CRS installation: 10 out of 12
- Vehicle assessment: 9 out of 13
For the 18-month-old child, the SUV scored 7.58/12, while for the 3-year-old child, it received a better score of 7.84/12. The Bharat NCAP report didn’t give detailed insights into head or chest protection for children.
