Snapdeal co-founder and Shark Tank India judge Kunal Bahl has shared an important health message with Indians. In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he urged people to take their health seriously and go for regular medical checkups.
Bahl especially highlighted the growing number of heart attacks among young South Asians. He strongly recommended a Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) test for people aged 35 to 40 and above. This test checks the calcium level in the heart’s arteries and helps detect early signs of heart disease.

In his post, Bahl said,
“This is so critical to do. With the number of young South Asians dying because of heart attacks, knowing your calcium score can start your journey of preventing a sudden heart attack. It’s a no-brainer to get this done if you are over 35-40 years.”
The CAC scan shows if there’s any plaque (fatty deposits) building up in the arteries. A higher calcium score means a higher risk of a heart attack. Bahl’s advice comes at a time when heart problems are becoming more common in younger people, especially in South Asia.
Zerodha’s Nithin Kamath Also Raises Health Concerns
Kunal Bahl isn’t the only startup leader warning about health risks. Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath also recently raised concerns about rising soft drink consumption in India.
He shared that a soft drink company’s earnings report showed Indians are drinking more sugary drinks than ever before. Kamath warned this could lead to more cases of diabetes, calling it a major health issue in India.
This is not the first time Kamath has spoken out. Last year, in November, he called diabetes a “ticking time bomb” for the country.
Conclusion:
Both entrepreneurs are encouraging Indians to take better care of their health—whether it’s through heart tests or cutting down on sugar. Their messages are clear: Stay aware, get tested, and live healthier.
