Land Rover has added a bold new version to its Defender lineup — the Defender Octa Black Edition. This version was recently revealed globally and adds a lot of stylish upgrades both inside and out.
Earlier this year, the Defender Octa was launched in India with prices starting at ₹2.59 crore (ex-showroom). Now, Land Rover has gone one step further with this all-black version, making it look even more powerful and premium.

What’s New on the Outside?
The Black Edition is painted in Narvik Black and includes over 30 blacked-out parts. These include the front grille, exhaust pipes, tow hooks, scuff plates, and even some parts underneath the SUV. You can also choose between 20-inch or 22-inch black wheels, both of which come with matching black brake calipers. All these changes give the SUV a bold and stealthy appearance.

What’s Inside the Cabin?
The black theme continues inside with Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather and Kvadrat fabric, which is a first for any Defender. The seats feature new perforation designs, and buyers can choose a dashboard with chopped carbon fibre for a sportier feel. It also comes with premium features like a 13.1-inch touchscreen, smoked taillights, and updated LED lights.

Engine and Performance
Under the hood, the Defender Octa Black Edition has the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 engine. It produces 635 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque, allowing it to go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds. It also includes advanced features like the 6D Dynamics suspension system and OCTA mode for high-speed off-roading.
After launching the Range Rover Sport SV Black Edition, Land Rover is clearly focusing on the popular blacked-out design trend. The Defender Octa Black Edition is expected to launch in India by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
