Lavji Daliya, better known as Lavji Badshah, is grabbing attention wherever he goes — thanks to his new car. He recently bought a Tesla Cybertruck, one of the first limited edition models made by Elon Musk’s company. According to his eldest son, Piyush, this is currently the only Cybertruck in India, reported The Indian Express. The car’s base price is about ₹60 lakh.

Lavji booked the five-seater Cybertruck six months ago at a Tesla showroom in Texas, USA. After taking delivery, his family registered the car with the RTO in Dubai and then brought it to India by ship. They even printed their company name, ‘Gopin,’ on the vehicle.

Piyush shared that after the Cybertruck arrived in Surat, he took it out for a drive with his parents and younger brother. “It was an amazing experience to drive such a car,” he said. He also mentioned that they hope Tesla will soon open showrooms in India because many car enthusiasts are excited about the Cybertruck.

The car is fully automatic, takes six hours to fully charge, and can travel up to 550 kilometers on one charge.

Lavji also shared his excitement with Reporters. He said they are currently only driving the car within Surat because it needs special care — many people are curious to see the car’s interiors and features. “Wherever we go in the city, about 50 to 100 people gather to see the car,” he said.

He added that the Cybertruck’s body is made of stainless steel with sharp curves and strong tyres, making it suitable for rough roads as well.

But who is Lavji Badshah?

Lavji Daliya is a businessman based in Surat, Gujarat. He works in real estate, the diamond business, and owns power looms. Originally from Bhavnagar, Lavji moved to Surat when he was 13 years old and started working as a diamond polisher. Over time, he built a large and successful business empire.

Because of his charity work, people in Gujarat started calling him “Badshah,” which means king.

On his Facebook page, where he has a photo with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he is introduced as “Lavjibhai D Daliya, famous as ‘BADSHAH’ in Gujarat for his social services.”

According to his LinkedIn profile, Lavji believes his success comes from values like honesty, gratitude, and forgiveness. His profile says he believes in uplifting society and helping people, which has made him loved by many.

Lavji is the founder of the Gopin Group, which includes:

  • Gopin Developers (Real Estate)
  • Gopin Foundation (Charity work)
  • Gopin Ventures (Investments)

The group focuses on creating a positive impact through business and social work.

Interestingly, Lavji had also tried to buy Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s famous pinstripe suit (the one with Modi’s name stitched into it) during an auction in 2015 to support the Clean Ganga Project, but he did not win the bid.

In 2017, Lavji started the Badshah Sukanya Smridhi Yojana. Through this scheme, he gave bank bonds to Patel community families who had more than one daughter. These bonds would mature after 21 years and offer ₹2.31 lakh to support the girls’ higher education or marriage.
