Two luxury cars that once belonged to Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan are now at the center of a tax issue in Bengaluru. The current owner of these cars, businessman and politician Yusuf Sharif (also known as ‘KGF Babu’), has been fined ₹38 lakh by the Bengaluru RTO (Regional Transport Office).
What Happened?
Although the cars were originally owned by Big B and Aamir Khan, they were sold years ago to Yusuf Sharif. However, he never officially transferred the ownership into his name. Because of this, the cars are still legally registered under the names of the two actors.

As per Karnataka’s vehicle laws, any vehicle used in the state for more than one year must be registered locally, and the road tax must be paid. Sharif failed to do this.

The Penalty:
- Amitabh Bachchan’s old car was fined ₹18.53 lakh.
- Aamir Khan’s old car was fined ₹19.73 lakh.
- Total fine: ₹38.26 lakh.
Even though warnings were issued earlier, the cars continued to be used in Bengaluru without proper registration.
Who is KGF Babu?
Yusuf Sharif, a businessman from Kolar Gold Fields (inspiration behind the film KGF), is known for his rags-to-riches story. He used to be a scrap dealer and later became a wealthy real estate developer. In 2021, he declared assets worth ₹1,744 crore during elections. Despite his massive wealth, he failed to follow a basic legal rule—officially transferring the car ownership and paying the required tax.

As a result, although Amitabh and Aamir have nothing to do with the cars now, their names got dragged into the controversy.
