Rajkummar Rao’s new political thriller ‘Maalik’ is doing well at the box office. On Saturday (Day 2), the film earned ₹4.45 crore, bringing its total earnings to ₹8.2 crore so far, as per early estimates from trade website Sacnilk.
The movie, directed by Pulkit, had a good start on Friday, collecting ₹3.75 crore. With more people coming to theatres on Saturday, the movie’s growth shows it’s gaining momentum and could do even better over the weekend.

On the other hand, Shanaya Kapoor’s debut movie, ‘Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan’, which also stars Vikrant Massey, is not doing well. It earned only ₹49 lakh on Day 2, slightly better than its opening day earnings of ₹30 lakh. Its total collection after two days is just ₹79 lakh, with low audience turnout – only 12.61% seats were filled on Saturday.
Both films are also facing tough competition from Hollywood movies. ‘Superman’ collected around ₹9 crore, while ‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ made about ₹7 crore on Saturday, making it harder for smaller films to attract viewers.

Despite the competition, ‘Maalik’ is getting good reviews and positive word-of-mouth, which could help it stay strong in the coming days. The film stars many well-known actors, including Prosenjit Chatterjee, Manushi Chhillar, Saurabh Shukla, Swanand Kirkire, Rajendra Gupta, and others.
‘Maalik’ is turning out to be a box office success, while ‘Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan’ is struggling to make an impact in its opening weekend.
