On the nights of May 8 and 9, India’s army did something amazing—they stopped Pakistani drones from crossing our borders in Jammu and Kashmir. The hero behind this success? The Akash missile system, a powerful weapon made entirely in India.

Meet the Genius Behind Akash: Dr. Prahlada Ramarao

The Akash missile didn’t just appear out of nowhere. It was built by Dr. Prahlada Ramarao, a brilliant Indian scientist. He was chosen by none other than Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam (India’s famous “Missile Man”) to lead this project when he was just 33 years old. For 15 years, he worked hard to make Akash a reality. Now, this missile is protecting our skies.

Why Akash is a Game-Changer for India

  • Stops drones & aircraft – Akash can shoot down threats from 18 km high.
  • Super smart radar – It can track multiple enemies at once and hit them with perfect accuracy.
  • Works in any weather – Even if enemies try to jam its signals, Akash keeps working.
  • Fully Indian-made – No need to depend on foreign weapons; India can defend itself.

What Happened on May 8-9?

Pakistan sent drones to attack India, but our army was ready. The Akash missiles shot them down easily, proving that India’s own technology is strong and reliable.

This isn’t just about stopping drones—it’s about India’s strength. Thanks to scientists like Dr. Ramarao, we now have our own high-tech weapons to protect our country. No more waiting for other nations to help us.

The Future: A Stronger, Safer India

The success of Akash shows that India can defend itself. With more smart scientists and homegrown technology, we will keep getting stronger.

Dr. Ramarao said this was the happiest day of his life—and every Indian should be proud too!
