Meta has just dropped a bold report—and it’s reshaping the way we look at India’s startup scene. The takeaway? AI isn’t a side hustle anymore. It’s front and center. And the way startups are scaling into small towns and global markets shows they mean business.

Over 70% of Indian startups are now using AI for key operations. From customer service bots to smarter logistics and product design, artificial intelligence is helping young companies work faster, cheaper, and more efficiently. Meta’s analysis makes it clear: without AI, you’re not even in the race.

But that’s not all. Around 67% of startups are now going omnichannel—a fancy way of saying they’re blending online and offline like pros. You browse online, buy offline. Or the other way around. It’s smooth, fast, and customer-focused. Think: Instagram ad → WhatsApp chat → doorstep delivery. Seamless.

What’s really interesting? Startups aren’t just focusing on big cities anymore. Tier 2 and Tier 3 towns are seeing a boom. From Jaipur to Jabalpur, demand is exploding. Founders are smartly moving in, filling gaps, and building real connections with new customers who are ready to spend but under-served.

Even more impressive—52% of these startups are going global. Yes, Indian-origin products are winning hearts from Dubai to Dallas. Whether it’s Ayurveda, SaaS tools, or handcrafted goods, there’s huge international demand—and India’s founders are jumping in with both feet.

Sandhya Devanathan, VP at Meta India and South East Asia, says this shift is no longer optional. “Startups need to evolve fast to stay competitive,” she says. Meanwhile, Himanshu Bajaj from Alvarez & Marsal points out that even early-stage startups are acting with serious strategy—not just hope and hustle.

This isn’t just growth. It’s evolution. And Meta is spotlighting the digital innovation that’s making it possible. From smart use of AI to new-age customer journeys and international thinking, India’s startup playbook is no longer playing catch-up—it’s setting the pace.
