Former England cricket captain Nasser Hussain has praised Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj for his energy and passion on the field. Hussain said that Siraj brings the same kind of intensity to the Indian team that stars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma do.

“With England’s Chris Woakes getting injured, Siraj is the only fast bowler who has played the entire series and kept giving his best in every match,” Hussain wrote in his column for The Daily Mail. “He’s the kind of player every captain loves—he lifts the whole team. He reminds me of Darren Gough, who was the same when I was captain of England.”

Hussain also praised Team India for showing great spirit and fight throughout the Test series. He said, “Even after their heavy defeat at Headingley, India didn’t give up. They’ve shown that they’re a tough team to beat. They’ve won as many sessions as England, maybe even more. It’s just that they’ve missed out in a few important moments.”
He also pointed out how impressive this has been, especially because India is playing without senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Mohammed Siraj has bowled over 155 overs across nine innings in England and never once thought about getting tired or injured. At a time when many players are managed carefully to avoid too much workload, Siraj has shown amazing stamina and fitness. He has already taken 18 wickets in four matches.
Speaking to Sky Sports in an interview with Dinesh Karthik, Siraj said, “I don’t worry about breaking down. I just focus on giving my best for the country. I keep my plans simple and always try to give 100%, and the results come.”
Siraj has also had to take on more responsibility in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, who could only play three matches due to workload management. But Siraj said he enjoys that challenge.

“I love responsibility, but I also miss Jassi bhai (Bumrah) because he’s a senior bowler and leads with his skills. Still, when he’s not there, I feel confident taking more responsibility. I try not to feel extra pressure and just keep things simple,” Siraj said.
