Neeraj Chopra Wins Paris Diamond League Title, Beats Julian Weber
Neeraj Chopra has done it again. On a cool Friday evening in Paris, India’s javelin hero out-threw his top rivals to win the Paris Diamond League. This win is special—it’s Neeraj Chopra’s first Diamond League title in two years, and his first-ever win in the Paris leg.

The 27-year-old Olympic and world champion started strong. In his very first attempt, Chopra threw an impressive 88.16 meters—a mark no one could beat that night. Germany’s Julian Weber came close with 87.88m, but it wasn’t enough.
Brazil’s Luiz Mauricio Da Silva grabbed third with 86.62m. Despite three fouls and a quiet finish at 82.89m, Neeraj’s first throw did all the damage needed.
This was not just another win. It was personal.

Breaking the Silver Streak
Before this event, Chopra had six second-place finishes in the Diamond League since his last win in Lausanne (June 2023). In Doha (May 2025), he threw 90.23m—his best ever—but still lost to Weber’s monster 91.06m throw.
Then came another second-place finish in Poland at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial. That time, Chopra managed 84.14m under tough conditions. Weber beat him again with 86.12m.
But Paris was different.
This time, Chopra led from the front. And stayed there.
Return to Paris, 8 Years Later
The last time Neeraj Chopra competed in Paris was back in 2017. He was a junior world champion then and finished fifth with 84.67m. Fast forward to 2025, he’s now a two-time Olympic medalist and reigning world champ—and this time, he left Paris with gold.
What’s Next for Neeraj?
Chopra’s next big appearance will be at the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic on June 24. After that, he returns to India for something special—the first edition of the Neeraj Chopra Classic in Bengaluru on July 5. It’s a top-level World Athletics event, and he’s not just competing—he’s hosting it.
With every throw, Chopra isn’t just making records. He’s redefining Indian athletics.
